PARTNERSHIP
Air Dolomiti immediately realised that partners were going to be a fundamental part of any development strategy it intended to undertake.
In 1992 the company signed an agreement for flights between Venice and Lugano with Crossair, the well-known pioneer in regional European transport.
In 1993 it signed a business agreement with Lufthansa: the first step towards a future alliance. This extremely important alliance led to the signing of a further agreement in Autumn of 1994, following which Air Dolomiti became a "Partner of Lufthansa". Things didn't stop here and on September 22nd 1999 the German airline invested in a 26% stake of Air Dolomiti.
Today the company is part of the Lufthansa Group, a world-wide leader due to the differentiation of services and a complete and highly efficient operating structure.
In October 2003 the new Lufthansa Regional Project was announced which aimed to increase the quality and reliability of the German company regional partners; Air Dolomiti is a member of Lufthansa Regional together with Augsburg Airways, Contact Air, Eurowings and Lufthansa CityLine.
The Lufthansa policy comprises a series of codesharing agreements with some of the most important Star Alliance members, such as United Airlines and Austrian Airlines, which allow travellers to take advantage of all the services provided by the alliance in terms of fare conditions, services on the ground and fast streamline check-in services.
Air Dolomiti confirms its importance as a regional Italian carrier in Munich as it is included in a global system, with over 700 flights a week, to and from 13 Italian cities (during the summer season). The Company flies to Munich, Frankfurt and Vienna which are all important Star Alliance hubs in Europe.
Verona is currently the airline's operational headquarters.
