FLEET
During these twenty years of business Air Dolomiti has constantly renewed and increased its fleet.
Since 2009 Air Dolomiti has been introducing the new Embraer 195 for which is the launch customer in Italy: the Company undertakes the historic evolution of 100-seater range.
The E195 is a vanguard, extremely flexible, dynamic aircraft with innovative design: pointed winglets and sleek lines are some of the distinguishing features on the outside, but the real beauty of this 116-seat airplane is on the inside. The aircraft was designed from scratch using virtual reality technology and optimized specifically for the 70 to 120-seat equipment segment.
The Embraer design optimizes four “E” fundamentals – Efficiency of structure and weight to maximize range; the Ergonomics of a passenger-centric, double-bubble cabin; Engineering that features the latest avionics, fly-by-wire and maintenance diagnostic technology; and operating Economics that deliver low seat-kilometer costs and high revenue-generating potential.
The new E195 will operate together the ATR fleet made by 6 ATR 42-500 and 8 ATR 72 -212a.
The homogeneity of the fleet was therefore one of the cornerstones of Air Dolomiti’s production setup, an indispensable strategic requirement for a regional carrier anxious to play a leading role on the European market.
Efficiency and safety were a top priority from the very beginning.
Air Dolomiti created its own technical and operational team: a maintenance service and a training centre for flying staff.
A curious anecdote: Air Dolomiti planes are named with the titles of operas written by the most famous Italian composers, to honour the Verona Arena Foundation: a particularly innovative message which intended to valorise and promote its land of origin and diffuse the culture of music, something so important in Italian life. Once again therefore Air Dolomiti succeeded in launching a powerful image of Italy into the skies of Europe.
